What is the Difference ?
The most apparent difference between Ninpo Taijutsu and other arts is realism and the lack of sport. This is not a sport art. Unlike Taekwondo, Judo, Jiujitsu, Karate, and other modern arts, who’s goal is to win, Bujinkan Ninpo Taijutsu concentrates on Survival. The techniques are not designed to “obtain a sparring point” or “submit” an opponent. The techniques are designed to injure, maim, blind, incapacitate, immobilize, and kill. This is a survival art, therefore weapons are included in training, including firearms.
Jeet Kune Do
Jeet Kune Do, or “Way of the intercepting fist”, is a system of derived martial science from the late Bruce Lee. This system incorporates ideas and techniques from the following arts.
· Kung Fu
Escrima is a Philippino stick and knife fighting system that concentrates on dexterity and speed. It has lightning fast strikes from over 64 different angles. Sensei Gary believed it to be crucial for a warrior to have this type of dexterity and understand this type of “no nonsense” combat, therefore this is included in the Wan Yun Loong Curriculum.
Know for its brutal striking ability, Muay Thai is a no-nonsense combat sport from Thailand. Referred to as one of the best stand-up systems, Muay Thai incorporates, kicks, punches, knees, elbows, from all angles as well as close range knees, elbows, and kicks from the clinch. Although it is a sport, it has allot to offer and can be well utilized in self defense, much like Jiu-jitsu.
